Premier Inn is proposing to redevelop the site of the Comrades’ Club on The Parade in Epsom Town Centre. Since the current Comrades’ Club building is in need of substantial renovation or redevelopment, we intend to replace it with a new building.
The proposed new four-storey building has been designed to blend in with the local architecture, providing 57 bedrooms in the hotel and new facilities for the Comrades’ Club. The east end of the building’s ground floor will contain the hotel reception and restaurant, while the west end will house the new Comrades’ Club.
The upper three floors will contain bedrooms, with the third floor housed within a mansard roof with dormer windows.
To reduce noise from the Comrades’ Club, sound reduction measures such as the use of thickened masonry, external triple glazing and internal secondary glazing, will be installed.
The proposed hotel will create 20 new jobs, while the renovated Comrades’ Club a further two new local jobs.
Disabled parking spaces will be available on the premises, with the majority of guests using the seven public car parks within easy walking distance of the hotel and club. Furthermore, due to Epsom’s excellent transport links, many hotel guests wil not require car parking at all.
